HTC One goes official with 4.7" 1080p full-HD display and UltraPixel camera

Just as we expected, HTC announced the launch of its latest flagship smartphone, the HTC One, the company is banking on enhanced camera capabilities – HTC is calling it an UltraPixel camera – an improved sound experience and a revamp of its Sense UI.

The HTC One comes with a 4.7-inch full-HD display with 468 pixels per inch packed in an aluminium unibody. It is powered by the latest 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor alongside 2GB of RAM.

The Jelly Bean powers the HTC One. Project Butter should go a long way when it comes to delivering a lag-free UI experience. Of course, HTC has injected a bit of Sense into the stock Jelly Bean experience.

The camera of the HTC One sports a 4MP sensor and 1080p@30fps video recording (with HDR). The sensor has what HTC calls Ultrapixels, which are much larger than the regular smartphone pixels and promise vastly improved per-pixel quality and low-light performance.

The breakthrough HTC UltraPixel Camera redefines how people capture, relive and share their most precious moments. HTC Zoe gives people the ability to shoot high-res photos that come to life in three-second snippets.

These Zoes, photos and videos are then displayed in a unique way that brings the gallery to life and transforms the traditional photo gallery of still images into a motion gallery of memories.

The HTC One is ready to support LTE networks around the world. But if your region has no 4G infrastructure, it will play nicely with 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 bands for HSPA. The phone supports download speeds up to 100Mbps and 50Mbps for uploads.

The new HTC One offers the best audio experience of any mobile phone available today. HTC BoomSound introduces for the first time on a phone, front-facing stereo speakers with a dedicated amplifier and an amazing full HD display that immerses people in music, videos, games and the YouTube clips they love.

Beats Audio integration is enabled across the entire experience for rich, authentic sound whether you're listening to your favorite music, watching a YouTube video or playing a game.

HTC Sense TV transforms the new HTC One into an interactive program guide and remote control for most TVs, set-top boxes and receivers. Tapping the power of the cloud, Sense TV makes it simple and intuitive to see what's on and find that favourite show.

The new HTC One will come in Grey, Black and Red colours with 32GB and 64GB storage options, but without expandable storage. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, Infrared (see below) and Micro-USB.
