Sony has announced VAIO notebook computers for the spring of 2012. The new VAIO notebook computers have new options for the user to choose from, and some of the notebooks get new style and colors as well. While the Z series, S series and E series will all receive CPU upgrades along with various other component updates, the C series changes are limited to updates of the cosmetic variety. The E series is also getting the CPU upgrade to the latest 2nd generation Intel Core processors.
Sony VAIO Z series Laptops
Let’s first start with the Sony VAIO Z series Laptops. The Z Series will now offer optional LTE mobile broadband built-in, supporting 4G data service and a new Carbon Fiber Silver exterior as options. The Z series also received the latest 2nd generation Intel Core processors ranging from the Intel Core i5 and up to the Core i7 with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 3.50GHz and RAID 0 solid state drives. Starting prices are $1949.99 and that includes the Power Media Dock drive.
Sony VAIO S series Laptops
Also getting a spiffy new refresh is the Sony VAIO S series Laptops. The S series now new generation of Intel Core processors in the both 13-inch and 15-inch models offering up to Core i7 CPUs. The S Series includes Hybrid Graphics with either an AMD Radeon HD 6470M with 512MB of VRAM or an AMD Radeon HD 6630M with 1GB VRAM. The 13-inch machines start at $799.99 and 15-inch starts at $979.99 with a Core i5 CPU and the IPS screen. Both 13-inch and 15-inch models will be available starting early February.
Sony VAIO C series Laptops
The C Series both 14-inch and 15-inch have new style with a Kaleidoscope Pink color that has a pattern on the lid that looks very feminine and interesting. That new design is printed on paper using a special process to give it depth and light reflectivity and it looks like aluminum. For those not wanting pink, a new Geometric Black version of the notebook using the same paper process is available.
